A great trip to a far away land!, September 20th, 2013
Really a great read! This tale takes us back in time to when kings & queens ruled. We travel with the Princess Constance & her entourage while learning of her family, their kingdom, & their battles. We witness the daily routine of the Princess as she becomes of age preparing for her future. All the while attempting to free herself from the doubts of skeptical elders who are stuck in their belief that women are not meant for decision making & power.
The characters are very like able & fit in nicely with their surroundings. I did find it slip at times from the old ways of speaking to our modern chatter, but it was easy to follow & I enjoyed the story a lot. I have to say the huge surprise that she sprung on us was well worth my momentary freak out! And...I love King Matthias & what he stands for! As well as Queen Grace who's momentary lapse in time brings about many emotions, but never truly giving up. It is easy to envision the passionate Princess ruling with greatness. Oh, but let's not forget the forever friend, Staid, who proves to be a romantic, not simply a warrior, bringing so much to this tale. I look forward to reading more of Diachona, the neighboring kingdoms, & where they shall lead us.

Another great trip to a far away land!!, November 15th, 2013Another great trip to a far away land!!
I am a history addict, so these type stories are something I crave! Are you ready? Diachona awaits!
Even better than the last! We travel to Munda where we're introduced to new people, more battles to overcome, & tough decisions that must be made. Will Diachona gain it's newest ally in the Mundayne empire?
I don't like to give spoilers, so I will just tell you if you enjoy stories that sweep you away to far away lands in days of old that are full of passionate characters then this book should be a great fit for you.
I am looking forward to next & final book in this series. I will admit I cringed at the word FINAL! I get a bit attached to characters. I'll be the one crying when a series is over. *Waves*
If you have not read book 1: In Movement of Crowns I suggest you grab it today!

Movement of Crowns (Book #1)

At the point when kingdoms’ ideas of humanity differ…
The nation of Diachona is celebrating the twentieth birthday and rite of passage for Constance, the Diachonian king’s daughter and heir. Yet, the pause for festivity doesn’t erase collective doubts about Constance’s aspiration for a place with the men on the National Council, nor does it eliminate fears roused by oppressive threats from a neighboring, powerful empire. Amid increasing rumors of war and personal misgivings about her own future, Constance deems this an inopportune time to be falling in love with one Commander Alexander. Will Providence keep them all through international tensions and the changing of times, or is Diachona watching its territory in vain?
