Paranormal, thriller, guardian angels, demons, fallen, seers, supernaturals, family, emotions, awesome fight scenes, suspense, & so much more!, May 6, 2016 Julie Cassar never ceases to amaze me, & Stealing Light is definitely on my favorites list! This story is different from anything I've read lately & seriously rocks!!! The perfect balance of suspense, angst, romance (in between saving the world & all), & hotness. I am seriously in awe of the characters & worlds she creates. She doesn't miss a beat. All bases covered!!  Personally, I read a variety of genres (although my faves tend to be YA paranormal romances. Don't get me wrong, there are many adult books I have enjoyed as well, but it seems the new norm is all about the sex & not much else.) I adore romance, but I also want adventure, action, comedy, etc. And I LOVE thrillers & suspense like no other!  So, I always appreciate romance done tastefully!! A great romance must also have a great story with it, & Cassar never disappoints. I appreciate how she creates those steamy scenes without over sharing. Not to mention all of the other awesomeness she packs in. Her stories always succeed in transporting me to these far away worlds she magically weaves & I can't wait to see what is to come!! BTW... There are only a few authors that I have found that can truly make me laugh hysterically through the trembles and/or tears. You know, that whole anguished snort cry with fluids flying both directions...yep THAT Happened! I believe anyone who enjoyed her previous works will adore this one too. It's her style of writing that draws us in. Of course, the characters too, but they are addicting because of the unique spin she gives them. An enormous scorpion-like creature creeps over the ledge of the Canyon. Carmine colored with eight legs, the Schorachnia is at least twenty feet long from its head to the end of its body. Two long, flexible tails swing wildly from its rear, both with pear-shaped orange stingers growing from the ends.

In the front of the creature’s body, two giant pinchers at the end of crab-like arms nimbly pluck at the flowers. Fiery round eyes in a pointy triangular face intently focus on the task. Without seeming to notice us, the creature holds its pinchers over its mouth and drips liquid onto its tongue.

“Nectar seeps from the flowers,” Sash says. “They take it without ever damaging the vines. That one is called Glutano.”

“How do you know which one is which?”

“By the color of their stingers,” she replies. “The same seven colors as in the hair of the Serquatine.”

“Is it a man or a woman?” I ask.

“A male. All the Schorachnia are male, just as the Serquatine are all female.”

“Why is he ignoring us?”

“He’s not,” she answers. “He’s testing your patience.”

As though he heard me, the creature’s face suddenly juts out from his body, connected by a long scraggly neck. When he swings his head towards us, red and orange flickers inside his eyes like flames dancing over a fire. Sash holds a hand out, showing the creature the rainbow over her palm, so I do the same.

The Schorachnia turns away from us and uses his claws to pinch more beads of nectar from the flowers. After pouring the fluid into his mouth, he retracts his head into his body. I jump backwards when he suddenly spins and charges at us. 

Sash grabs me by the arm. “Never show fear in front of the Guardians,” she says calmly. “Only respect.”

The creature scurries across the crumbly red dirt and slides to a stop a few feet in front of me. While his eyes study Sash, both of his tails flail in the air behind him.

“Greetings, Glutano,” Sash says, bowing. “The Traveler Chase is here to venture into the Infinite Expanse.”

The Schorachnia doesn’t answer, but I flinch again when his head springs out and stops right in front of my face. His hypnotic eyes capture mine, absorbing my mind in their flames.

“This being is not of this world,” Glutano says in a dry and crusty voice, as though his throat is full of dirt.

Sash squeezes my arm and turns her face to me. When I glance into her eyes, I know the look she’s giving me. She’s telling me to speak for myself. 

I refocus on the Guardian. “I wasn’t born in this world,” I say, “but it’s the world I belong to now.”

is a fantasy author from Los Angeles, CA. His debut science fiction fantasy novel "Krymzyn" was published in October, 2014. "The Infinite Expanse", the highly anticipated second book in "The Journals of Krymzyn" series, is scheduled for release on March 31, 2015.

Powell has a diverse background, having held several creative positions in the entertainment industry, including executive roles at ABC-TV and Technicolor. In recent years, he's authored several non-fiction works, primarily educational books and training programs for trading the financial markets. He dual majored in journalism and philosophy at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

Writing fiction has been his lifelong passion and goal. “The Journals of Krymzyn” represents, in his words, “finally finding the story I want to tell with characters that are able to bring that story to life.” He's an avid reader and lists Ernest Hemingway, Frank L. Herbert, Stephen King, Jane Austen, and Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. as his favorite authors.

Brad, as he prefers to go by in personal communication, lives with his longtime girlfriend, three sons from a previous marriage, and their rescue dog and cat. He enjoys hiking, ocean kayaking, spending time at Southern California beaches, movies, and reading.

Hoping there is a Forever Fey in the near future!, December 28, 2014

If this were on the big screen it would most definitely hit the Top 10 List of the year!!

I've been looking forward to this novel since I finished book 4, Forever Blue, but I was not sufficiently prepared for this magnitude of this journey. If you have read this fabulous series then you should understand (at least somewhat) my thoughts. Prepare yourself for the word vomit about to spew. I was utterly stunned & could not even write what I thought immediately. Talk about a book hangover!

For those of you that have not ... here goes: Julie has this magical way of transporting us right into this amazing world she has created with these characters who call to us even after a year of last reading their tales. It truly takes a talented author to be able to go back & re-tell this huge chunk of life full of so many memories & happenings of some of my all time favorite characters from a different POV without skipping a beat. A whole year later! I was thoroughly blown away by the fact that I enjoyed this story SO much more than I already had!! Especially being told by our favorite swoon worthy fairy! Aaaaahhh sweet Brennan!!

Now for those of you who have no idea who this hottie is let me fill you in a bit ... we have Ruby: the feisty teen who will make you giggle 'til it hurts, Leo: Ruby's lil' brother who loves to annoy & embarrass her whenever possible, Anya: one of Ruby's BFFs who happens to be a fairy princess (of all things! I know it's terrific!
