~ My Review of Distant Desires ~ Part 1 ~

The heat from his fingers seared through the back of my shirt. I wondered if his hand print would permanently scar my skin. He used his body almost like a shield, guiding me back down onto the couch, this time sitting much closer to me.

"I know this is a lot, but try not to overreact."

I laughed.

His hand lay between us. I could feel his fingers against my thigh. Without thought, I reached forward, linking our fingers together and drawing his hand into my lap. "Don't you think I should at least be allowed to see your face?"

I sensed his hesitation. But instead of trying to convince him, I waited for a reply.

"I don't look like you."

"No one else looks like me either," I said.

"That's true," Tarek agreed, but it didn't sound like he was speaking to me. Then he spoke out, "I mean the people of your planet. I don't look like your version of humans."

"Then what do you look like?" I asked.

"Like a Sapien." He shrugged his shoulders as he said the words.

"Show me," I said.

Tarek untangled our fingers and withdrew his hand. Slowly, he reached up and grasped the edges of the hood. Then he paused.

I groaned out loud.

This guy was going to kill me!

"I'm afraid I won't please you," he said softly.

The words pierced my heart. He thought I was going to think he was ugly. He didn't realize how those words made him so very similar to me and every human I knew.

He was vulnerable and self-conscious, just like the rest of us.

The fact he even cared at all what I thought of him took away some of my shock and panic.

"Try me," I said equally as soft.

You could have heard a pin drop through the silence that encompassed the room.

The silver silky hood fell back, lying against his neck, the folds of the fabric bunched in a way that created a loose frame for everything above his neck.

He was right. He looked nothing like the human's here on Earth.

Tarek was better.

Completely addicting laugh out loud story I could not get enough of!, July 31, 2014

Blind Seduction is a treat to the senses! It's official...I am completely addicted to this story! #TeamRed The characters & their fabulous sense of humor sold me at the get go. If I could share with you all of the hilarious scenes I highlighted we'd be here quite awhile, but hey you would do better to grab your copy so you can highlight your own personal favorites.
Red is absolutely adorable & his sarcasm priceless! Teresa & Red's conversations flow flawlessly. Janey & Ken are a whole other breed of awesome, true friends to the end. The guys of course bring a whole new level to dating with their strategies, & their surveillance tactics had me doubling over. I don't think there was one single character I did not find interesting, each and every one being essential to this well orchestrated ploy to hook us, ensuring we'd be back for more. I could not stop reading!
Once we get to the dating & those hot HOT hot scenes...let's just say, you may find yourself with an internal struggle as you choose between the uncontrollable bursts of laughter, blushing, & fanning yourself regularly as they become more frequent & intense. There is so much more there than meets the eye. A sensual refreshing read to the end! Love this series & jumping into book 2 right now!

The Red series featuring Red Rover and Red Zone (release date Aug 23rd) is a funny paranormal romance series with a lighter PG13 type storyline. While both series contain the same character names and a lot of shared dialogue, the Red series is stripped of sexual content and language.
T feels that writing is not a calling so much as it is a compulsion. No one is more surprised than she is when characters take over the plot and dialog, and (re)direct stories in directions she had not (consciously) intended. She is fully convinced that the writer is the tool a story uses to tell its tale. Some tools, of course, are more appropriate for the job than others. Here's hoping, you feel she did her stories proud.

Scarlett Dawn never ceases to amaze me! She has masterfully hooked me on 3 completely different stories in a few months time!! She executes each of them so spectacularly I couldn't begin to tell you which is my favorite!!
Paranormal lover that I am I was first pulled in by her Forever Evermore series. In between books 2 & 3 of that series I quickly devoured her novella Obsidian Liquor (included in The Obsidian Collection anthology) while eagerly awaiting this release of Fall.
Scarlett's descriptive stories consistently jump to life before me, not just the main characters either. To achieve this even in her shorter stories captivates me making me love her work even more! For example, while reading Fall, it felt as if I were observing these other worldly plants & colors through Braita's eyes as she experienced them for the 1st time, and it does not stop there. This human who must travel to an unknown world to survive quickly realizes this is now home. Imagine being forced to abandon your crumbling world that will no longer sustain your people, rebuilding a utopia so-to-speak only to have to abandon it as well, & your only options being to choose to coexist with otherworldly beings you've only heard terrifying tales of or cease to exist. If you ever watched Terra Nova (before it was cancelled) then you will completely get what I mean. Even in the "terrifying places" you can not only see & feel the odd creatures, buildings, landscape, & their ways of life but appreciate it as well...only to later learn all things are not as they seem. At that moment this shocking cliffhanger will leave you speechless!
