If I don’t participate in the ritual to seal my initiation into the ruling council and solidify my mother’s empire, everyone will figure out the truth.

My truth.

That I’m a Cursed.

It gets worse.

My only hope rests in the hands of Ryker, whose sister I sentenced to death.

Oh my Orthros!, September 15, 2022
Thoroughly enjoying this hesperine’s tale more & more with each book. In Blood Solace we are rewarded a walk through the magical world of Orthros meeting all of the elder firstbloods & their families. What an amazing world they have built! This is only after a terrifying trip & run in with heart hunters, of course. Prepare yourselves for a whirlwind adventure of magic, conspiracy, romance, fabulous world building, & a kaleidoscope of characters.
Each have won a special place in my heart as we have gotten to know them better, & I am eager to see what is to come for them all. The queens have mesmerized me. I would eagerly read more about all of the characters who rushed to Cassia’s side making her feel welcome & wanted. Of course, I am particularly fond of sweet little Zoie. Still holding on for Lio & Cassia’s happy ever after too. I hope it is as epic as their love for each other. Diplomacy be damned…I hope to see her tyrant father taken out only after finding out all of the deeds his daughter had a hand in. He deserves nothing less! Chysanthos & Skleros with him!

Can’t wait to get my hands on the next book to continue this addicting adventure!!

Oh my Hesperine!, August 19, 2022

The saga continues & I am ready to riot!!
I must start by saying it’s taken me a lot longer than normal to finish this book as we have been battling a “war” of our own in real life. The solace this tale has brought in each moment of down time I’ve had this last week left me beyond grateful. Thank you, Vela Roth for creating such an addicting group of characters & weaving their tales into a stunning tapestry worthy of royalty. This world first won me over in Blood Price, & totally sealed the deal in Blood Mercy! The coming war the hesperines may face is only the beginning….the connection Cassia & Lio unveil - legendary….the mages, the secrets, the king - unrivaled….but that ending - riot worthy?!? I am screaming!!!!!!! Must HAVE answers NOW!!!!!! OH MY HESPERINE!!!!! Blood Solace here I come!

Crown of Blood and Wings ~ Review

Crown of Blood and Wings

Book 1 ~ Ash Kingdom Series

by M.R. Polish

She was supposed to stay hidden. He was supposed to die. The Trials were created to dispose of the weak. There are no allies. Only enemies competing for the same reward—receive the king's protection from the bloodthirsty Alorians and a bag filled with coins. After twenty-two years, Caitriona Delahorian thought she was skilled at the art of hiding when it came to the draft. If the king knew she had magic in her blood, she'd be forced to enter the Trials. No purse filled with payment for her servitude. No alluring invitation blessed with security for her family. No. She'd be nothing more than a prisoner. If she lived. With the rebellion marching to her door, she realizes hiding is no longer an option. Stepping out of the shadows to join the fight and embrace the magic that got her parents killed, Caitriona makes a choice to risk everything for other magic wielders, herself, and to avenge her parents. On the eve of the next draft, she is discovered by guards and shackled, tossed into the dungeon with the willing participants to await her turn in the Trials. If she passes her first test, she can move on and maybe escape. But an arrogant, stubborn, roguish, albeit extremely handsome, self-centered captain won't leave her side. Captain Hawthorne's blade was rumored to slice through the strongest armor. Yet, it was his eyes that cut through her. There was more hiding behind his façade. But she was the queen at hiding things. If she stays in the Trials, she is in danger of losing more than her freedom, and the king will acquire a dangerous new weapon.

Vampire/Fantasy Romance

Oh my Alorian!, May 23, 2022

Do NOT pass this one up!  I am LOVING this world & the extra challenges they’ve survived! The trials are a whole other ballgame, & had me freaking out all the way through. Think Hunger Games meets Salem Witch Trials with a bit more magic & romance. So many twists & unseen factors. Darkness below rearing it’s ugly head, a king determined to win at any cost. I tried to drag it out … to make it last a bit longer, but my curiosity won. I couldn’t wait any longer. And now I must wait for book 2. *sigh* #WorthTheWait #NeedMoreNow

Book Trivia ....

All of the scrypts used for the magic system were created/designed/hand drawn by M.R. Polish.

This one is the life binding symbol that Layke and Caitin share on their palms.

M.R. Polish

M.R. Polish was born in Idaho, a long, long, long, maybe not that long time ago.... Writing has always been there for her. Growing up, her mind was filled with stories, some she shared and others she filed away to write down later in life. It wasn't until 2011 that she decided to publish her stories for everyone to enjoy. Her first award and when writing became more than just an idea was in the 5th grade. She won the scary story contest for the school newspaper. It is one story she still has tucked away for memories. Her teacher told her she could be anything she wanted and that she had a talant for writing, being creative and drawing people into her stories. M.R. took that to heart and continued to write, although mostly in secret until recent years.

Now you can find her enjoying life with her family - wrangling her four kids, setting traps in the house with toys for unsuspecting victims (aka, her husband) and writing down all her crazy and fun stories.
