The colors emerge around others and reveal their pasts; but what does it mean? With her head down she struggles to finish school and find a family, but the colors seem to want to take her down a different path.

A path that led to a man named Sander…

The ruler of the Night Kingdom had heard her name whispered like a fairy tale…

was born in Idaho, a long, long, long, maybe not that long time ago.... Writing has always been there for her. Growing up, her mind was filled with stories, some she shared and others she filed away to write down later in life. It wasn't until 2011 that she decided to publish her stories for everyone to enjoy. Her first award and when writing became more than just an idea was in the 5th grade. She won the scary story contest for the school newspaper. It is one story she still has tucked away for memories. Her teacher told her she could be anything she wanted and that she had a talant for writing, being creative and drawing people into her stories. M.R. took that to heart and continued to write, although mostly in secret until recent years.

Now you can find her enjoying life with her family - wrangling her four kids, setting traps in the house with toys for unsuspecting victims (aka, her husband) and writing down all her crazy and fun stories.

Inheritance ~ Book 2
The Dark Gifts Series
Blurb:
When Sarah and Jason Masada received an old house from an aunt they never knew existed, they were grateful for the blessing. Until they discovered the curse that came with being part of the Masada family--a full moon.

Intent on tracing their lineage, they descend into a world of lies, fear, ancient myths, and death. Indian hunters have tracked them to the family compound, Jason is wanted for murders he doesn’t remember committing, and their new-found family is on a mission to kill them. It seems their only hope for survival is to combine forces with two unlikely allies and trek across the globe to the place where it all began. Maybe there they can find a way to end it.

My Review:

5 Stars
Ok...I just have to say...this book is Greatness!!! She's done it again!! I absolutely LOVED this book! I could not put it down! I started out reading Birthright (The Dark Gifts Vol. 1) & was just awed! LOVED it!!! I wanted more, so I downloaded the sample of this one. It took me a few days to decide to buy the full version. I have to admit at first how bummed I was after finishing the sample of Inheritance (The Dark Gifts Vol. 2), because it seemed like a whole new storyline.....UNTIL I purchased the full copy. Don't get me wrong...the characters in this book DEFINITELY grabbed me, pulled me into their story, & held their own, but I was stuck in the mindset of Birthright, & I just wanted their story to continue on from there...to know more about Liz, Michael, The Council, & their magical journey. :) But --- Wow, either way I was hooked! I soon realized I knew some of the names these new characters were referring to as well. And then it hit me. When those critical pieces fell into place it made everything crystal clear!!! I am definitely a huge fan of Willow Cross' writing!! I will be waiting on pins & needles to read more of The Dark Gifts series!!! GREATNESS I tell you! =)

Birthright ~ Review

Birthright
(Book #1 in The Dark Gifts Series)
by

Blurb:
For one-thousand years, Druid prophecies foretold of a young witch destined to alter the fate of both human and immortal alike. This witch-turned-vampire would be capable of harnessing the supernatural abilities of both and, in a bloody rise to power, would rule with unwavering control.

Unwillingly thrust into a world she never dreamed existed, Liz Markum is catapulted into an ancient war between rival vampire factions. She must choose between those she loves and the ever-present darkness attempting to devour her very soul.

Only one question remains: Will Liz claim her birthright or surrender to the dark gift?
One choice.

One chance.

Two destinies.

Should be a movie...it's that good!!, July 10, 2012
This book is a must read!!!!! 5 Star FABULOUS!!!!! I started with the companion book Afterlife & immediately purchased Birthright. One day later I've finished it & ready for more! I do believe this is my newest favorite book! Willow Cross brought her characters to life & they instantly had me hooked! It's hard to decide who my favorite character would be, but honestly how can you go wrong with vampires, witches, goddesses, & a druid!!??!! She has exciting new twists around every corner that definitely made me want to keep going! I wish they would make it into a movie!! And..as with all of Willow's books I look forward to reading more of her greatness!
