I lead him inside, away from the brisk fall air. I climb the stairs to my bedroom, to change my clothes, and Colton follows behind like a lost puppy. Grabbing some comfy UK sweat pants and a tank top from my closet, I go to the bathroom to change, leaving Colton standing alone and distant in the doorway. As I’m changing, I hear soft music echoing from my room. My heart constricts, slamming against my chest, as nerves rattle deep in my stomach. Pinching my eyes closed, I take a deep breath, before stepping back into the bedroom. 
Opening the door, I notice the song playing is Fall Into Me by Brantley Gilbert. He grasps my wrists between fingers, and pulls me tightly to him, wrapping his arms around my waist as he begins to turn me slowly to the rhythm of the song. Running his nose up the crook of my neck, and through my hair, Colton hums the tune quietly. Taking deep inhales, he begins to nibble lightly on my ear as deep rattling groans escape him. The music continues to play, as we tangle ourselves in the others embrace, swaying to the rhythm. 
Snuggled tightly to his chest, Colton tips my chin up so he can peer down into my eyes, seeing my heart, hearing what I can’t say with words. “Let me be your love song, Carly Jo,” Colton’s deep husky voice, barely a whisper. 
Slowly, he leans in and takes my bottom lip between his, gently teasing with soft licks. Gripping my hair in his hand, Colton tips my head back, and works his way softly down my neck, and across my collarbone. Running his fingers under the hem of my tank top he gently massages the small of my back, as he trails sweet kisses down my shoulder. Inching my shirt up slowly, Colton grazes the hem of my bra, before he quickly pulls my shirt over my head, leaving me feeling vulnerable and exposed. I immediately want to cross my arms over chest, but I shake those thoughts, as I remember this is Colton. He’s the same man I gave my innocence to so many years ago.
Sensing my anxiety, Colton rubs soothing circles across my back, as he continually kisses the crook of my neck. Completely carried away by his affectionate conquest, I give into temptation and begin to love Colton back.
Rubbing my hands up the hard muscles of his back, I pull his shirt loose from his pants, then work my way back to the front to unbutton them. Surprised by this, Colton becomes even more excited, and kisses me deeper, harsher. Pulling his work shirt off, he rips the white under shirt away quickly, desperate not to break contact with me.
I trail my fingers up Colton’s bare tight chest, and my knees grow weak, trembling with fear, and passion. Colton continues to sway me to the music, which he has on repeat, as he hums softly. “Fall into me Carly Jo, I’ll catch you, and hold onto you forever,” Colton croons between hums.
My trembling knees fail me, and I stumble, but Colton grasps me tightly, then lays me back on the bed. A wide smile spreads across his gorgeous tan face. I feel a wall around my heart crack at his smile. His eyes glisten with love as he gazes deep into my soul, searching to find the love for him that has always been there.

My Review:

 3.5 Stars

 A good concept that could use some tweaking., April 4, 2014
I chose 3.5 because I think this is better than book 1 which I gave a 3 star, but I do not think it's quite a 4 just yet. 
Because Fury is a retelling of Fierce from Hunter's Point Of View (containing new scenes) & I read them less than a week apart from each other, my review for Fury is only slightly different from my original review of Fierce.

Again...I don't like to give out spoilers, so I don't want to go into too much detail. BUT...If you are reading Fury then I suspect you have already read Fierce, so you should understand my comments a bit more.

Fury is better than Fierce thanks to the added info. we get. Originally I had a bit of brain whiplash from the emotional tug-of-war these characters were having. It seemed not just 1 or 2 of them either. In reference to Hunter Bane, he can be fierce. As a matter of fact he is during some of the story, unfortunately in others he totally is not. This is not necessarily a bad thing as even the most hard core alpha male's have their days, but I feel like there is balance missing. One minute I am mesmerized by him & the next I am momentarily apalled.
What is it about these "bad boys" that puts us under their spell? Whatever it is...Autumn Blakewood has it bad! Autumn's pretty much a recluse nerd type who is actually in college for the education. Almost immediately she's confronted by this "bad boy" quickly realizing things are not always as they seem. As the scene unfolded I was eager to see how this would play out although I had some Hmmmm moments. Unfortunately in many of those moments I found myself internally debating several issues. I REALLY liked Autumn's character until all of her good decision making capabilities went out the window. Now don't get me wrong...I understand why the characters are slightly inconsistent, being young adults this is not uncommon. Throw a new college routine in the mix & obviously we need to allow for growth & adaptation to the twists life has thrown at them. I simply do not believe things would have played out as presented in such situations, or possibly I just missed something along the way. My mixed feelings continued with the best friends.

I very much appreciated the real-ness of Autumn & Hunter's "relationship", because they are very real in the fact that they each have emotional baggage, issues, & obstacles to overcome. However in some instances I wondered who in their right mind would do such a thing?

I do love the idea ultimately conveyed...Never give up & show 'em how fierce you are!

As far as the extra scenes ~ With this new information we get a better idea of Hunter & his inner battles. I always enjoy getting the inside scoop on our beloved characters, but I have mixed feelings once again. While I'm all for accepting our weaknesses & overcoming them it seems Hunter lets his define him instead of clinging to the happy moments as the blurb says. Which brings us to the gang & drugs ... there are some kinks in this operation as well as the gang members' attitudes & actions. All in all it is a good concept that could use a bit more tweaking.

My forehead leans against hers as I gaze into her deep blue eyes that are full of longing. I want her to believe me, to trust in me, to feel that I need her. I didn’t want her to get hurt because of me, but I can’t stay away any longer. I need her more than anything. She is my drug and I’m giving in to my addiction.

I lick and bite my lip in anticipation, waiting for her to let me in. I can’t stop wanting her, but if she really doesn’t want me the same way I do then I’ll have no choice but to stop. “Tell me what you want. What you really need. Do you want me to let you go? Do you want me to stop hunting for you?” I whisper.

I’m pleading in my head for her to say ‘no.’ I look her in the eye, telling her without words that this is what I desire the most. She takes in a deep breath and opens her mouth.

When she says, “Kiss me. I want you to kiss me,” I’m done for.

I press my lips on top of hers like before, taking it slow and easy this time. It felt like I was dying of thirst, but now, after knowing she’s okay with it, I’m much calmer. I take her lips in slow, lavish licks, kissing her with every ounce of my love.

She shivers in my arms as I hold onto her tight, pulling her closer to me. She kisses me back tenderly, her lips as caring and soft as she is. Her hot mouth is driving me insane. She’s the only one who can do this to me.

She’s turning to mush in my arms, and I love how it feels, so powerful, so intense. My instincts take over as I grab her hands and pin them above her head. I alternate my kisses with nibbles, arousing her so much she moans out loud. My cock responds with enthusiasm, poking against the fabric of my pants, eager to take her.

Before I know it, my hands are slipping down her body, along her waist, and to her thighs, my fingers desperate to squeeze that tight ass of hers. I can feel the goose bumps forming on her body as my hands slide down her arm. “Although I wouldn’t mind the sweatpants either. Easier to take off.”

Although nothing beats her sex appeal in this black dress. Damn.

Have I told you lately how much I LOVE THIS SERIES?, April 4, 2014 This whole series is just AMAZING! I have said so from the very beginning! Kassandra Kush has an amazing talent for finding the light in the darkest of places! From book 1 I ranted & raved about wanting every teen girl & woman to read this, & I stand by that still. There is truly so much I could say, but I won't as I don't want to spoil your journey. Just know that this has been one of the very very best YA series I have read, & Part 4 has definitely been my favorite thus far!!!! BE PREPARED because this is a very emotional journey that involves some very sensitive matters, but it is a journey so worth taking.
In Part 1: The Prologue we get the background story of what has happened along with a glimpse of what's to come.
Part 2: The Struggle we dive into the deepest of Evie & Zeke's minds.
Part 3:The Healing we get to watch as transformations are made along with some of the sweetest moments. Which brings us to ...
Part 4: The Love Story where we quickly find out that things don't always end up as we envisioned them, but that's not always a bad thing. Right?
If you have not read Parts 1-3 then please do so to understand the story best, & so you get to know these terrific characters as well as we have. This series is one of the very few that has caused me to seriously bawl my eyes out while still coming back begging for more! Why? It is the way Kush delivers the story; she has perfected the skill of delivering incredibly heavy situations without dragging us down into an endless black hole, & her ability to incorporate smiles & laughs in small appropriate ways throughout makes it that much better. I love her writing style. I applaud her tenacity. I adore her characters. I will be on edge until The Epilogue is released! THANK GOODNESS PART 5 WILL BE OUT IN MAY, BECAUSE THAT CLIFFHANGER........Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgh!
