The Omen of Stones ~ Review

The Omen of Stones
by Casey L. Bond
Publication Date: March 13th, 2020

Spirit and Stone. Song and Sky. Fate and Future all align.

On my seventeenth birthday, I finally heard Fate’s voice. He whispered to me again and again, insisting I find the Omen of Stones. Having never heard of such lore, I thought I could ignore his pleas. The Summer Solstice proved otherwise. Being surrounded by fellow witches worked my magic up into a powerful swell that crashed and churned within me. As the energy crackled through my veins, I shunned my royal duties to follow the call of my heart.

Venturing beyond the safety of the Kingdom’s borders, I felt Fate nudging me toward a destiny I was eager to claim. Confidence in my craft blinded me from the ominous clouds of danger that roiled on the horizon.

Captured by purists dead-set on purging the Kingdom of magic and witches, my salvation came in the form of a mysterious girl who wielded stones like daggers. Something about her called to me, whispering we were stronger together, strong enough to stand against the dark forces threatening to crush my kingdom. Trusting Fate could jeopardize my heritage and my throne, but defying him could cost Omen’s life.

Epicly Amazing!!!!, February 27, 2020
Casey L Bond blew me away with this amazing story! Her magical world sprang to life dragging us along for the ride, & what an exhilarating ride it was!! I didn’t think I could love this book more than the first. I fell hard for Sable & Tauren’s tale, but River & Omen utterly & completely devoured me. Epicly (Is that even a word? Yes that’s a word! Or ... at least it is now.) Amazing!!! My favorite yet! LOVE love LOVE these characters & their stories! Each their own yet intertwined & flowing into an epic masterpiece. I can’t wait to see who’s fate is revealed next!
If you’re new to this series ... magic, fate, love, betrayal, mayhem, bloodshed, mystery, & clarity await!

I looked around at our house, then to the boy standing in it, into his honey-gold eyes. “I don’t regret saving you, and I don’t regret bringing you here, or making salve for you, or letting you stay. I don’t regret walking with you to see the flood. But if I had let those men drown you, or if I would’ve left you bound in the rope when I had the means to sever it, or outside without a roof over your head when I had one to offer… If I’d refused to ease the pain in your wrists, River, I would have regretted it. I would have regretted every second of any and all of those choices.”

Of The Blood ~ Review

Of The Blood
by Cameo Renae
Publication Date: May 15, 2020
One malicious prince. Two rival kingdoms. And an innocent girl caught in the crossfire.

Raised in a war-ravaged continent, temptation comes to Calla Caldwell in the form of a charming and mysterious stranger. Giving in to his intimate seduction, her world is forever changed by a single bite.

Calla quickly learns the handsome stranger is vampire prince, Trystan Vladu. His bite was an attempt to claim and save her from a plot of vengeance generations in the making. However, the claws of that ancient vendetta are scraping ever closer.

Thrust into a new nightmare by the Prince of the corrupt kingdom of Morbeth, Calla is captured, tortured, and starved in the dank confines of his dungeon. While in captivity, she takes part in a séance with a witch of light where she contacts a departed relative—a Princess of Incendia—who bequeaths a gift to Calla that will tip the scales of good and evil . . . if she can learn to harness it.

With a dark tapestry of secrets, lies, and murder unraveling around her, Calla must learn to embrace the power roiling through her veins, or be snuffed out by the strangling fist of a malevolent darkness.

Of the Blood is a dark exciting read that I enjoyed to the very end! So many things I love about this tale! As always the characters feel so real & alive. Get ready to be thrown into their moments & go places you never dreamed of. Morbeth is no joke. I’m gonna need more of Calla & Trystan ASAP! Can a girl get book 2?!?

I woke to see a pitch-black sky. No, it wasn’t the sky. It was a cave where the air was stagnant and smelled of brine and rotted seaweed.

I was lying on a bed of sand. And there was sand on the entire floor around me.

Was this purgatory?

“Ah, the Sea Star awakens,” a rich voice spoke off to my side.

I rolled my head to the side and watched a young man, perhaps early twenties, step out of the shadows. He was over six feet, but his eyes . . . they were lambent, a mesmerizing icy blue. He was handsome, with a sharp nose and jaw, with full lips that were curled slightly upward. Light silvery-blue hair fell to his shoulders. He was shirtless, muscular abs, pecks, and biceps glistened on sun-kissed skin in the light of a nearby fire.

“Who are you?” I questioned, my voice a bit hoarse.

He stepped closer, muscular arms crossing over his tanned chest. “I’m Kai. And you are lucky I happened to be passing by. I sensed your energy and by chance, saw your body splash into the sea.”

I scanned the area and realized we weren’t in a cave. The walls surrounding us were transparent. They were made of water. It was a dome, maybe twenty feet in height and width. And if I looked hard enough, I could see things—sea creatures—swimming around us.
