Worlds Apart ~ Review

Worlds Apart by Ann Denton
Publication Date: May 5, 2015
With a comet streaking on a collision course with their planets, Rose and a few of her people were sent to Earth to live in peace—to coexist with the humans. Zack and many of his people were sent to Earth to enslave the humans and rule the world. Years after their first disastrous encounter, Zack and Rose meet again—he has changed. After saving her life, love is sparked. Will their love survive even though they are worlds apart?

Worlds Apart was riveting! I snatched this up as quick as I could after previously falling in love with Denton's writing style in her 1st YA series, Kiah's Soul-Shifting Journey.
While this was very different from the others I immediately fell in love with the world she creates for us. As always Ann brings us a unique mixture of action, wonder, suspense, & loveable characters. A real treat! If you enjoy books like The Host & The Giver or TV series like Friends & Star-Crossed you are sure to like Worlds Apart!

He lay on the bed beside Rose. She snuggled close and rested her head on his arm. “Where is he now?” she asked.
“Maddox? I don’t know. He might have made it to the cabin—if not, he is probably dead. You don’t have to worry about him. I swear—I won’t let him hurt you again.”
Rose laughed. “Who would ever have thought Zack Roberts would be my hero?” she said as she gently caressed his hand.
“You know it’s your drugs talking, right?”
She was silent for a minute. He thought she was asleep. “If a drug makes you feel this way, I can see why there are so many addicts,” she said as she snuggled closer to him.
He smiled, stroking her hair until she was breathing deeply and he knew she was asleep. He knew that heartache and pain was in his immediate future—John would be here soon to take her away. I’m not good enough for her. She deserves so much better. I will hold this night in my memory forever, but it would be stupid of me to think she would ever want me—he thought as he drifted off to sleep.

Snatch up all of Denton's YA masterpieces for the amazing low price of .99 cents each for a limited time only!

Ann Denton
lives in a small community in Oklahoma where her four grandchildren are the center of her attention. Ann has shared her imagination with them since they were babies. She has spent hours of playtime with her grandsons playing everything from “pirate ship” to dressing up as aluminum foil robots. With her granddaughter, she has had countless magical tea parties and played “princess dress up.” Ann has written poetry for years, but most recently, she collaborated with her fifteen-year-old grandson to write her very first young adult series . . . Kiah’s Soul-Shifting Journey. In January of 2013, her debut novel, The Quadrant War, book (1), was published. The Tech War, book (2), was released in September of 2013, and War's Redemption, book (3), of the trilogy was released in June of 2014. Ann's favorite genre is young adult—both to read and write; however, she also enjoys reading other genres. Ann does most of her writing late at night when her characters take on a life of their own and keep her awake.
