Paramour for the Devil ~ Review

Paramour for the Devil
Hawthorne Witches Series ~ Book 1
by Savannah Hill
Publication Date: October 2, 2015
Darkly erotic. Supremely powerful.

Haley Hawthorne is a witch. She shuns her paranormal gifts, instead escaping into a mundane, reclusive life as an accountant for her Uncle Eli's firm. Five years earlier, Haley was kidnapped by Raden, brother of Lucifer, and held captive as his personal sex slave. She escaped but still bears the scars, both physical and emotional. Now she has turned away from both magic and sex, and she's certain nothing will ever bring those lost things back into her life...

Damian, son to Lucifer, has renounced his right to the throne of Hell and has become a soldier for Adversus, hunting evil supernatural creatures on Earth. Unfortunately, he's powerless to witches, andthis witch can read his mind. He can't decide what is more dangerous—the irresistible attraction he feels for her, or the intoxicating peace she gives him. One thing is certain, they both share a tortured past.

After Damian rescues her from an attack by monstrous djinn, Haley discovers the dangerously seductive soldier has secrets of his own. One of them is the collection of whips, ropes, handcuffs, and leather riding crops he keeps locked away, though he refuses to show her his "Master" side. As her trust in him grows, she finds herself increasingly intrigued by all the kinky things he's hiding. But Damian has been given a new mission to kill a monster. A monster that turns out to be her uncle...

Where to begin? It's hard to form a coherent thought immediately after visiting this world. Words that instantly come to mind are paranormal, stunning, intense, suffocating, blissful, wicked, naughty, lustful, agony, sorrowful, indulgent, powerful, immense, desire... A kaleidoscope of emotion that demands your undivided attention.

The plot ...
Interesting, adventurous, & full of twists. We are literally taken to hell & back through the characters past & present. The more I read the more I wanted. You've got magic, witches, demons, & more.
It all began as a paranormal tale, but the further we get into the story the more it turned towards sex. Not necessarily a bad thing, the scenes flowed well & Hill's writing style kept my attention at all times. I am looking forward to a sequel for this one as we were left with some unanswered questions with plenty of directions they could continue on in.
*This is an adult read, not for the faint of heart. There are a few scenes that are very extreme & may not be for some including descriptive violence (ex: torture) & sex scenes including BDSM. In my opinion the violent memories of time spent in hell gave enough of a picture without going too far, but be aware they are there.*

The characters ...
A powerful group that refuses to be forgotten. Haley is sweet, loyal, & definitely underestimated. Damian an irresistible dark force, who happens to be the son of Lucifer, has chosen to fight with the good guys. Noah, Ginger, Aimee, & the gang make up a lighter side of this story enjoying day to day life with their friends & partying like no other. It's not all fun & games though, there is plenty of darkness working against them. But, the Adversus is on the hunt & no one is untouchable.

Definitely an exciting, dangerous, addicting read!
