Interview with Connor:

What do you want from life?
I want what every man wants. A beautiful, strong woman to love at the end of the day that loves me back.

If you were granted three wishes, what would you ask for?
1) For the all the vampires to be die.
2) New kilt
3) And, a lifetime supply of Scotch.

In your relationship with others, how are you different with family than you are with friends? Why?
I can laugh and relax with my friends. Family it’s always business, pomp and circumstance.

What do you consider your special talent?
I’m pretty good at cookin’ lamb.

What's the worst thing you've ever done?
I didn’t go to my Ma’s funeral service.

Who’s the most important person in your life?
My brother, Quinn.

How do you decide if you can trust someone?
If you can put a knife in a man’s hand a turn your back on him... you can trust him.

Describe your ideal mate.
A lass that enjoys the outdoors

What really moves you, or touches you to the soul?
Scottish music

What are you most proud of about your life?
Ay, my family and friends.

What’s something that the readers would be surprised to know about you?
I did my best friend, Leeny’s hair for her wedding.

What is a Brogadh?
A Brogadh is basically a shape shifter, but we can only shift into wolfhounds. Our bite is lethal to a vampire. I’m completely harmless to witches and mortals.

How did you get your name?
Connor was my great grand-da’s name. He was one of the Brogadh’s that helped bring down the vampires in Scotland

Do you have a best friend?
Leeny Moon

What’s your favorite food?
Hummus

Everything. I love livin and laughin’

Okay, you’re stuck on a deserted island, what three things do you have with you?
Ay, lass. I’d need Scotch, music, and a pretty girl. If’s it a deserted Island, I should make the best of it, right?

Excerpt from Blood Moon

October 1, 1950

My dreams were haunted with the reality of what is waiting on the horizon for us. We knew they would seek revenge sooner or later. Of course, we were hoping for the latter. The vampires have begun infesting the surrounding areas. My best friend, Finn brought word this morning that London has seen at least three dozen victims. The humans are oblivious as to the cause of the violence. The newspapers talk about the possibility of a wild animal on the loose. As I said before, oblivious.

Colleen and I each killed three of the abominations before returning last night. I enjoyed the time hunting with my sister. She has grown so much as a witch since her initiation. Her tracking skills are top notch. She reminds me of Ma. I watched as she baited the Barna Woods just east of Rusheen Bay with her blood. She and I took positions in neighboring trees. The foul beasts appeared almost immediately. We made easy work of them.

Since Da’s death last year, we’ve had to take turns staying with Ma. He was one of the last confirmed cases of the bubonic plague in Ireland. His death hit all of us hard, but none more so than her. She’s turned her emotions off. We need her in her right mind with the threat of an impending war. Colleen took her to visit Aunt Fionna in an attempt to either get her to open up, or sadly cast a spell to silence the pain.

Just before Da’s death, Seamus formally asked him if he could begin courting me. I don’t how I would have gotten through this without him. He’s extremely good with Isadora. She’s so young, and doesn’t understand what’s happening. Seamus helps me keep her occupied. I fear for them both. Isadora has little power and he is human.

No matter how many I kill, it will never be enough. Not until the day I can finally say that every last one of the monstrosities my family created four centuries ago are no longer a threat to any man, woman, child, or witch.

Blessed Be ~ Leeny

Cover Reveal ~ City of the Dead

City of the Dead

Blurb:
Upon their return from the post-apocalyptic realm of future Earth, Edward and the remaining members of his group destroy the portal to keep a never-ending flood of zombies from wreaking havoc on Desolace. They are reunited with their ghostly friend, Amber, but have no weapons or supplies and are forced to return to the town of Loknar to seek help. After enlisting the aid of the town guard, and their new friend, Jasper, Edward leads the group toward his home town, the city of Elysia.

When they arrive, Edward is saddened to see his once great city has been decimated. The lone surviving elder speaks to Edward of an incursion by the forces of darkness, which seems bent on completely destroying the largest city upon Desolace. Sending Edward and his faithful followers on a mission to the south, they soon discover a small town, seemingly forgotten and uninhabited for a very long time.

Was it the work of the Black Knight and his minions which has left the city streets littered with corpses? If so, will they be able to stop his madness before it consumes Elysia and everything Edward holds dear to his heart?

Excerpt:
Confusion swirled through his consciousness. The last thing he remembered was being lashed to a tree as the main course for an army of bugs. Had they detoured around him and gone after an alternate food source? He didn't think so, but why else would he still be here?
Just thinking about it made him itch, like the massive column of insects was crawling over his skin at this very moment. Realizing he could move now, George reached with one hand for his other arm to dig his fingernails into his flesh and peel it from his bones if he had to in order to quell the maddening sensation.
"No!" he screamed into the still dusk air as he watched his fingertips pass right through his arm. "This can't be!" Spinning around he came face to face with what was left of his body. Most of his flesh was gone, but there were still tiny fragments of tissue clinging to the skeletal frame which was bound tightly to the enormous oak. Tilting his head toward the sky George bellowed out in rage, vowing to pay the Black Knight back for what he had done to him. It was now just a matter of how and when he would exact his revenge upon his former master.

About the Author:
I spent most of my youth in rural Ohio and began writing stories at an early age. Many of these early attempts at story-telling were inspired by mysteries, such as those found in the old Hardy Boys books and the cartoon antics of Scooby Doo. As I entered my teenage years I began to drift away from writing stories, instead picking up my pencil to compose lyrics for heavy metal songs because my new dream was to become a musician. That vision remained hopeful for many years after my high school graduation, but like most dreams of this nature it died out as I became older.

After working several menial jobs through the years that followed, my thoughts again began to turn toward writing books. Inspired by my favorite author, Stephen King, I took an online creative writing course and slowly began to develop my skills. In late 2010 I was given a violent shove, both by the job market (which was horrible to say the least, and still is) and by the persistent encouragement of close friends, to pick up my pen and begin writing again.

In early 2012 I gave birth (that's almost what it felt like) to my very first published book, Desolace. Finally having a completed novel in my hand was the best feeling in the world for me, giving me a sense of accomplishment I had waited a lifetime for. Since then it has gotten easier for me with each book I have published. Since the initial release of Desolace two more of my novels have been published and another has just been completed. This last work is the first book I've written outside of the Desolace Series, an occult horror novel titled Destined for Darkness. Also in production is my current novel, City of the Dead, which will be the fourth installment of the Desolace Series and is projected to be released in September of 2013.

Inky ~ Cover Reveal

INKY
by J.B. HARTNETT

Blurb:
Anika “Inky” Redding is passionate about two things; her love of painting and her fiancé Evan. While working as a bartender to pay her bills, she meets Cole, a sexy divorcee. She denies their mutual attraction and tries to put him out of her mind.
When an abusive person from her childhood makes an unexpected visit, Inky’s world is turned upside down. Secrets are revealed and truths are exposed leaving Inky devastated and questioning what she thought was love. As she picks up the pieces and tries to move on, she finds her path crosses with Cole once again and this time, she cannot deny the passion between them.
Once she opens her heart again, will she be able to move forward or will her past find a way to stop her?

TEASER ONE:
“Please…” I begged. The way he spoke and the words he used, I wanted him more than ever. I felt him move to my feet, straddling the end of the chaise. He was stroking his cock harder and hissing between his teeth. “Come for me. Come for me so I can put my cock in you and fuck you hard and finally make you scream, Anika. Come for me.” His words were like fire igniting my flesh. I came at his urging and as soon as the first shudders of my orgasm began, he thrust himself into me, hard and deep. “Ah, Cole, yes…please, please.” I felt the second wave begin as he rammed against me, his sweat dripping onto my face as we came together. He cried out my name, almost a roar and I’d never heard anything more erotic and sexy in my life. I wasn’t sure if I did indeed scream but it was beyond amazing. He collapsed against me, panting and breathless. “God, what you to do me. How did you know I’d like that?” “Lucky guess?” I replied trying to catch my breath.

~     ~     ~     ~     ~

TEASER TWO:
“It’s even more beautiful than I remember it.” I was not alone. His voice flowed over my exposed back to the nape of my neck and climbed to my ears. I felt my skin ignite with his rich smooth tone. Maybe this was the effect of the Cognac and champagne combined with the emotion of the painting. I was afraid to turn around. So many things could happen now. I could turn into a pillar of salt, unlikely. I could blush or say something inappropriate, more likely. But the most likely outcome would be that the tears that were just sitting there, holding on for dear life, would break free and expose me completely. I chose to look ahead. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to acknowledge him. I didn’t want to break the spell. His hand rested at the small of my back and he spoke gently to me, “It’s magnificent. You captured it perfectly… Anika.”
